What kind (breed) of dogs are they using.I helped raise funds for a new dog for our local force (they are pretty good guys thank you) after the death of a couple older K9s. While doing research I noticed a preference for Dobermans and other "tough" dogs. This was true even though the cost of this type of dog ended up being $12,000. vs $1,400 for bloodhounds. The bloodhounds are easy to train for tracking and really good at sniffing things out and take to it naturally. The other dog breeds must be cross trained later to be able to sniff out things for even more money. The bloodhounds just don't look as menacing.
"Your contribution is important to all of us, but I want to emphasize that all contributions are voluntary and have no impact on your job status, performance review, compensation, or employment. Any amount given or the decision not to give will not advantage or disadvantage you. You have the right to refuse to contribute without reprisal. Your help is truly appreciated." The fact this is laid out makes the point you REALLY DO need to worry about this!
I see something that can be changed to bring in more donations. Start the "one time" donations at $10.00. For some of us on very limited budgets the $25.00 starting point is just out of reach for now. Yes, $25 is a good number, but sometimes smaller donations can add up faster. It may well draw in far more support over time. I already support a couple other causes and projects so I can't always chip in.
I wonder if this can and bite them in the end. My thought (vain hope, perhaps?) is that it will result in a court case later that will cost a ton of taxpayer money. Also a thought, if the local governments start having to pay for the defence of people they charge because of petty laws maybe they will drop some of them.
I first saw this last night on RNS. When Rachel was talking about it there was a comment flashed on the screen. It was only on for a moment but I noticed the way it was worded. It said that the firewall had gone down "again". No other mention was made by anyone about the other time(s) this happened, or what had happened then. Anyone else hear anything about this?
I think we're missing the big picture here. The Texas AtGen isn't making a point about anything in Texas. He's sticking it to the 'Federal. Trademark laws. After all, you gotta fight Obama anyway you can!
"And there are other things I am very concerned about. I’ve committed to read the bill, and I will read it, but right now I’m leaning against it.” Yep, he has strong opinions on this and he is "committed" to read the bill. He just hasn't bothered to yet! Yeah, trust me, I know what I'm doing.
Stepping to the side a bit, I saw bad management and "me too'ism" from ESPN and Disney. A couple of years ago they bought the Speed Channel. It had a loyal following that was growing and focused on vehicles (not just NASCAR), where almost nobody else was. They bought it out, stripped almost all connection to cars, and put on MORE sports, namely ball games, just like everyone else. I figure they got a boost at first, but how have they held up since then? I know I almost never watch them anymore.
I had been allowing soundcloud. It shows up on Ghostly on allowed or unallowed trackers. I let it run because of this one site. With this story I have moved it to "blocked" status. Perhaps if more readers did so and you folks told SoundCloud of this feedback? It might make an impression on them, or at least make them think a moment.
So, is GM gonna step in and sue 'em both because they are using the name Northstar. Everybody knows that means Caddy Northstar engines. Really wouldn't want anybody pouring beer and wine in their tank.
"While politicians are happy to take Comcast's money, it appears that few actually want to be publicly associated with a company with the lowest consumer approval rating in any industry." Doesn't that approval rating describe Congress as well?
In the army we had a phrase we used a lot. CYA. It made it into common usage, it means Cover Your A--. Thanks to Under Armours lawyers I think I'll do that with this lovely new product just to give them the finger.
I used to get on Google, and youtube a lot. When they started this policy they also cut off the old account I had and made it so that I couldn't keep my old favorites. I started avoiding Google and especially Youtube. Is there any way to get back our old accounts now? Maybe some other folks will come back if they make it possible. I had been using Youtube before Google bought it and liked my old account.
