Look. I actually work for a cab service in California. Although I am not a driver. You want to let Uber, Lyft and Ride run around picking people up. I am all for it. But while you bitch about cab companies wanting to put a pile of regulations on them and how unfair it is ... How about you attack your city and county officials about all the crap they make cab companies comply with? If you do not want to regulate ride sharing companies make it fair and deregulate cabs as well.
The reason is simple The UN has some power. When someone has power they do things to keep it or increase it. Period. The US and the UN look the same due to this. As people we combat it by not allowing enough power to get centralized that it effects us like this. Lately though we have become lazy and "Safety" and "Free Stuff" has become more important than anything else.
Really amoshias? A central function of government is to decide how difficult a company must make in app purchases for people so parents do not have to take any extra steps with their children? I will take a moment here to state that people like you have caused my coffee to be cold. My products to be more expensive and have allowed many people who would have otherwise died in horrible Hair Dryer in Shower accidents to breed. You should feel shame.
Of course the FTC should go after the bigger companies and the scammers themselves. But T-Mobile was not busted for signing the people up. They were fined for deliberately making the charges difficult to find and remove. Thereby making them more money. They were helping to enable the scammers for their own profit. This is not a good thing and should be fined at a much higher level. Take all the money they made off this practice and ad 20%. That should be the fine.
So When Hillary sends crazy stupid demand they fold intermediately. When the Republicans did the same they fought it. And our first thought is that it is a change from the old election to the new? I think not. I think the difference is just political.
Give it a few more years and information technology will have cops that abuse their power shot and killed. People do not like those in power over them abusing that power. The internet brings not only information to light but groups together.
When you have a group of people together the fear of a powerful individual can go away.
An officer who depends on the fear of an individual protecting him from retaliation while abusing his power will go away.
There will be a rash of cop killings before they figure this out and shut down the internet or behave.
I mostly agree with you.
"Linking to anything anytime should be perfectly legal."
May be stretching it a bit far.
Could I for example link to child pornography on an Elmo fan club website?
While I believe in freedom and linking...Linking to anything anytime is not good.
Hopefully not. Steve Jobs is horribly insufferable.
Apple Fanboys who hang on Jobs ever word are as well.
Steve Jobs listening intently to what Steve Jobs has to say would create a horrible monster from which we will never be saved.
I am actually a systems manager at a cab company in a metropolitan area. I have seen boom bust. It dose not affect the good drivers much. They have personals that use them exclusively. As much as possible. The regulations are pathetic. Every car has to get permitted every year. It fails if the A/C is not cold enough, the car has scratches or dents, the tint on the windows is anything other than PERFECT (we just remove it), the outside of the cab is dirty, or any of a slew of other minor things. Do they check the driveability of the vehicle, weather or not airbags are installed, if the brakes are in good condition or if the vehicle even can do more than start and idle? No. They limit competition and impose rules because they are government. If they are not comming up with a new rule or regulation then they are seen to be doing nothing.
It is if they can get it.
It is not a problem if I want to sell my stuff for what I think it is worth. If I price it to high people will not buy it. Why the fuck do you care how much entity A wants to charge entity B for it services. 2 PRIVATE companies negotiating. It is a fucking crime that congress would step in either way here.
