  • Is It A First Amendment Violation To Get Pulled Over For Flashing Your Lights To Warn Others Of Cops?

    bugmenot ( profile ), 21 Sep, 2011 @ 12:24pm

What the police are saying is that warning oncoming traffic of anything that might effect they way they are driving is illegal. For instance there is a 10 car pileup around the corner or the bridge is out, tell anyone in an attempt to create a safer passage. your asking for a fine.
Of course I understand that way of thinking and so should everyone.

  • Senators Ask Ingelligence Boss If He Thinks He Can Track People's Phone Locations

    bugmenot ( profile ), 17 Jul, 2011 @ 06:41am

    your location is no secret!

It is legal to follow you everywhere you go. Thus, determining the location of someone is trivial. What is wrong with following someone's tracks? If you ride your horse into the forest, anyone can track you because you left tracks. Today's tracks are electronic! That's progress. If you carry electronics it can be tracked any number of ways. If you don't want to be tracked, turn your stuff off and don't ride horses!

  • Oscar-Nominated Filmmaker Misuses DMCA To Take Down Video Of Reporter Asking Him Tough Questions

    bugmenot ( profile ), 07 Jun, 2011 @ 10:06am

    What is wrong with you?

They used of the logo and the film maker's name without his permission.

those people were not able to light their water on fire before the fracking started, and now they can.

citing studies in other parts of the world, at other times in history is complete BS and a ridiculous tactic.

The clown asking questions is a buffoon and an idiot.

He is using non-sequiturs, taking things out of context, and it will be interesting to follow the money on him.

The documentary is scientifically sound and the guy is not lying. If you have to do your -own- research, then do it.. but the fact is the fact..

Besides, what the hell is wrong with you people? do you really want those chemicals pumped into the ground and contaminating your water? seriously.. are you stupid?

well, you don't have to answer that.. but I can tell you this.. if you try that "drill baby drill" s***t and that fracking in the great lakes region of the upper midwest.. you're going to learn about second amendment solutions really quick.. so good luck.. we like our water here, and we are only trying to protect your water supply, so quit your whining and convert to a free competition economy so we can have new energy sources.

  • Court Slams FBI For Saying It's Okay For The Federal Government To Lie To A Court

    bugmenot ( profile ), 06 May, 2011 @ 12:39pm

    DUH!

What the heck would the FBI do if it could not lie?

They farm raise their liars from kids.

Racoons strew garbage, dogs steal meat from the table, politicians exploit, and Feds lie.

It's kind of the natural way of things.

There never has been probable cause required when entering any country. The recent case was if they could take it to another location for a search. Usually searches have to be done right there. General advice for all international travel is don't take contraband with you.

  • T-Mobile UK Decides Mobile Broadband Shouldn't Actually Be Used For Mobile Broadband

    bugmenot ( profile ), 11 Jan, 2011 @ 04:09am

Hate to tell you this, but...

Sorry kiddies, the days of all you can eat Internet are coming to an end. 98% of mobile users are consuming 200mb or less a month and that is static across all the carriers. They know this. The other 2% are tech nerds or people who want to stream movies or music and they are using services that the carriers want to provide and monetize for themselves. The studios are also pushing them to clamp down on large volume data usage as another way to close down torrent freaks and downloaders.

So what if you break the contract and go somewhere else? Think it's going to be any different? Not for very long. Eventually, ALL carriers will be like this.
If you go the sim route, you will still end up paying for what you use. No one is going to sell you a sim with 50gb of data transfer in a month. No one.

It will happen, get used to it or stop using the Internet. Go outside. Take walks. Unplug. Sing to yourself and play scrabble.

He is the leader. He approved the sex. He is responsible for the result.

  • Google Maps Error Dispute Continues To Escalate Between Nicaragua And Costa Rica

    bugmenot ( profile ), 15 Nov, 2010 @ 09:04pm

This whole incident has very little to do with Google's map. And, while on a recent visit to CR, I heard several comments disparaging Nicaraguans. The two countries have different economic positions, which produces a constant clash.

CR has loads of tourism income (and they're milking it for every dime they can demand!), Nicaragua appears to have much less, and consequently, more to gain in coming up with a new scheme.

  • Is It Defamation To Call The Couple Who Got Into White House Dinner 'Party Crashers'?

    bugmenot ( profile ), 09 Aug, 2010 @ 05:56pm

    Guilty as charged

The Salahis are broke dead beats who have multiple unpaid judgments against them in multiple courts. It looks like their creditors are catching on that they are getting $50K per episode so the summons are gonna start flying.f They already got hit with one at their premier party. Michaele has been trying to be famous for years. She lies constantly about her background. She says she was a redskins cheerleader although the redskins deny any connection. She says she was a make-up artist...well if you count the makeup counter at Nordstrums. She says she is an international and "national" (yes her words) model. Her big international modeling gig was a Japanese Mattress ad.
She is lying about being invited to the White House. They were Begging Michelle Jones from the Pentagon starting 3 days before the event. The only reason she asked for their information to be vetted was in case she got them tickets which Ms. Jones has stated she never got.
Public emails show they went to the WH not knowing if they were invited. Michaele said recently she would not go to the White House chancing it but their emails totally contradict that. Compare her statements she is making now and read the emails and you will see she was not invited. You are only famous for crashing the WH party and nothing more. No one cares about your style or clothes you wear. Get over yourselves!

Doubt a rampant black market will evolve...

You have Germany to the north, France to the west, Italy to the south, and Austria and Liechtenstein about an hour a way... not hard to buy any game there legally and probably cheaper than it is in Switzerland anyway.

  • House Passes Ban On File Sharing Use By Government Employees

    bugmenot ( profile ), 31 Mar, 2010 @ 04:52am

    Re:

"I can't see why a government employee on a government computer would actually need that sort of software." I think that depends on the particular government employee. Say you're in the IT department (as I am, though I'm non-government) and you need a copy of the newest Linux distro to install a new server toot-sweet because you're on a deadline. Bittorrent is the perfect way to get those .iso files. Unfortunately, because you're a government employee, you can no longer use Bittorrent. So, now you're going to have to download the .iso files via another source, at a much slower rate and miss your deadline. Now, in this scenario, should you be running the Bittorrent software on one of your other, active, servers? Hell no! But you could run it on a clean laptop that's located outside the hardware firewall (but with a software firewall in place on the laptop), burn the .iso files to disc, and then reimage the laptop to make sure nothing has been compromised during it's time outside the firewall. I've done something similar quite often in my company, and it works very well. As long as some common-sense safety rules are followed, there's no harm. The harm is in these "zero-tolerance" situations. They're so worried about P2P that they don't realize that the real threats are often from downloading things from standard web pages. Sure, block P2P traffic from the receptionist and Finance and departments that really have no need to access it, but don't ban it from the people that can actually use it and know the precautions to take. The issue is about security. If you (or Congress) think that P2P is the root of the security problems, they you and they are fools.

  • The Role Of Curation In Journalism

    bugmenot ( profile ), 20 Feb, 2010 @ 08:17am

curation, does that mean eliminate the misinformation

Newspapers are losing circulation because they contain too much misinformation. Who buys rotting fruit? What is too much? Well, my kids were taught in school to never cite a newspaper to support a fact! and that was 10 years ago! Today, many papers rely on the AP. The AP's science and health articles are trash! They either don't say anything or they pick up some sensational press release and up the hype a factor of 10 and not bother to disclose how many reports discredit what they just reported! Even the front page of a paper is trash. Almost all political reports contain adjectives hyping or knocking a person or a party! A biased journalist is like a physicist who doesn't know arithmetic! Curation is needed! or the news media will become defunct! People won't pay for misinformation! or at least the people the advertisers want won't pay. No one can say anything about the below intelligence world!
