I imagine the US and Britain have more than few politicians who think a similar system will be a great way of finding "terrorists" and that it would only be used in the best interest of everyone to keep them safe!
Hey, those damn dirty bastards at ifixit did not listen to their Apple overlords. This is a blatant disregard of Apple's corporate personhood and they should all be in jail just like those people that don't buy every incremental iteration of the latest iDevices.
Most of the poorly spelled notices aren't because the requester is incompetent. It's actually quite clever.
If they make it ridiculous and you respond in some way, it does their work of figuring out if you're gullible. This way they don't have to filter thousands of people who might be tricked initially by a clever email, but will balk later.
