  • If People Like You And Your Work They'll Pay; If They Like Your Work, But Don't Like You, They'll Infringe

I don't like you, and I don't like your content.

You, sir, are safe from me infringing upon your post.

  • French Court Fails Digital Economics; Claims Free Google Maps Is Illegal

    Greg G ( profile ), 14 Feb, 2012 @ 05:53am

    Re:

"...Google Maps is too much promoted by Google Search..."

Yea, and Yahoo Maps are promoted by Yahoo Search, Bing maps by Bing, etc., ad infinitum. So what? Google is bigger and more popular, therefore richer, so let's just sue them.

  • MPAA Boss Chris Dodd Then & Now Concerning Google Censorship In China

    Re: Re: eejits!?

And Chris Dodd paused for a moment, his strangely dark eyebrows beneath a snow white flock of hair arching painfully higher than they normally appear, then suddenly exclaimed, "Ohh, I'm getting a raging clue!"

The rest of us just rolled our eyes, knowing he couldn't get a raging clue even if it presented itself as a little boy kicking him square in the nuts.

  • A Small Victory For Patent Common Sense: Earth Closet Orders Are No More

    Greg G ( profile ), 23 Nov, 2011 @ 06:13am

How about a reversal of who pays? Why can't we get the patent holder that sued to now pay for the court costs of the alleged infringer?

After all, the case never should have been brought to court, therefore the defendant incurred costs that he never should have had to part with, so I would go after the bunghole that sued.

Leave it to OOTB to use the term "filibuster."

The term filibuster -- from a Dutch word meaning "pirate" --

It's those damn pirates again, them and their due process!

  • GoDaddy Takes Down Entire Site Of Copyright Attorney/Photographer Over Bogus DMCA Claim

    Greg G ( profile ), 21 Nov, 2011 @ 09:28am

    Re: Re: Re: Alt

So, if I take a picture and post it on my own site, then you come along and send me a DMCA takedown by claiming you have copyright of that picture, that picture is automatically take off the site or the site is shut down completely, forcing ME to have to contact YOU or my ISP to find out wtf happened.

When the dust settles and it's realized that you do not, in fact, have any copyright claim and I did, indeed, take the photo, my photo/site is reinstated, after who knows how many hours of downtime (and possible lost income.)

In the above scenario, I do not think you have any "good faith" claim over said photograph. To me, it's a malicious act (sending the DMCA notice) because I'm sure you know damn well you have no claim over the photo in question.

I want to know why there's no penalty for sending these "bogus" claims. Once the powers that be determine that it is, indeed, bogus, and you've caused me potential lost income (and yes, I think I might use MAFIAA-math to determine actual losses), I want to be compensated AND have you tossed off the internet/sent to a gulag for bogus DMCA filing.

  • Pelosi: We Need To Find A Better Solution Than SOPA

    Greg G ( profile ), 17 Nov, 2011 @ 12:24pm

    Pelosi

Hmmm... Pelosi saying it's a bad idea. One of two things is happening here.

    1. Pelosi is being bombarded with emails/calls by people who voted for her and she's saying that to keep those votes next time she's up for re-election.

    2. The world is actually coming to an end in 2012.

  • Canadian Actor Claims Mashups Are Morally Wrong And Should Be Illegal

    Greg G ( profile ), 07 Nov, 2011 @ 01:23pm

Re: Mashups create something "new" as your stomach does to food.

So what you're saying is that because our fathers, or our fathers fathers, or our fathers fathers fathers, (right, I'll stop laboring the point), created an aqueduct, paved a road, irrigated a farm, or did *anything* prior to me having done it, that whatever I do, no matter how much or how little I may or may not have been influenced by our fathers, or our fathers fathers, or our fathers fathers fathers (right, stop it!) will still just be crap.

How about you go tell that to 3M. "We don't
make the products, we just make them better."

  • Universal Music Keeps Trying To Claim Zoe Keating's Royalty Checks, Despite Having Nothing To Do With Her

    Re: Re: Omelettes

Hear hear! We don't need to wait for a government intervention. We can voluntarily dispossess ourselves from our belongings.

And where can I get Universal's routing and account number so I can change my direct deposit? I've been withholding things from them for far too long and they don't own me yet. The government gets the taxes and Universal gets the rest.

After all, by virtue of their name alone, Universal should own everything.

Way to draw people to your side. Calling us "stupid fucking fool"'s, ignorant, sycophant freetard's, and then wanting us to die in a fire?

I would really like to know what went wrong in your life for you to have so much pent up hatred for people that speak the truth, and why the truth bothers you so much.

  • US Postal Service Sends Postage Due Bill To Guy Who Put Block Party Invites Into Neighbors' Mailboxes

    Greg G ( profile ), 14 Oct, 2011 @ 06:31am

Re: This isn't New or 'Rarely Enforced'

Anecdotal stories of this happening in one general location (Chicago suburbs) don't mean it happens everywhere.

My parents neighborhood has individual mailboxes and people are always using them for personal things like block or birthday parties, lost pets, etc.

I live in neighborhood that has those mailbox banks and they are locked, so we can't get anything that doesn't come through the USPS in our boxes. So if people want to distribute hardcopy invitations or lost pet notices, they have to do so by canvassing the neighborhood and sticking them to our doors.

Or, better yet. Just use email. USPS is pricing themselves out by constantly raising postage rates anyway. I can't remember the last thing I mailed or shipped. The last time I had to use a stamp, it was 30?.

Would I miss the USPS if they went away? No, can't say that I would. My paper shredder would get a break, though.

"You've NO say in the matter, not even to rag him."

So no one else, including Mike, is entitled to an opinion?

In that case, neither do you. YOU have no say in this matter, but you're so full of ignorance that you constantly deride people -- and why should it matter how much money anyone makes? Look out for your own best interests and think before you post.

Or better yet, keep doing what you're doing. We all love a good laugh.
