after reading comments on both articles it seems that MC was trying to make the point that companies need to stay lean if they are to continue on the free path as the money has to come from somewhere else which may be undependable.

  • Class Action Lawsuit Filed Over Bogus Laptop Battery Length Claims

hey there are standards. on the battery it should tell the mAh (milliamp hours). batteries at the beginning of their lives usually hold true to this rating and for the most part are sometimes even better. Now what someone needs to do is set the computer to the lowest power settings, hook up a power supply to the terminals with an ammeter and measure the current draw and do the calculations to see if it will really last that long. Now once this ammeter is connected you could also play with power settings to get the current draw to it's lowest and then see how much you extend the battery life.

they aren't goin to block access to WoW from China. Although copies of WoW purchased in China only work on the servers that are set up in China people who bought their copy in the US play on US servers. Case in point: my dad works over in China but I play WoW with him all the time. He has found that he needs to connect to various proxies to actually get a good connection to the servers.

Once he was using a proxy in Taiwan and I do believe they were logging keys because his account became hacked and he thinks it was the guys running that proxy server. Now he just uses his companies VPN to play the game with a solid connection but too bad that VPN DCs you when he logs onto ventrilo

  • If AT&T Mobile Broadband Banned TV Streaming, Why Does It Allow MLB Streaming?

    brent ( profile ), 29 Jun, 2009 @ 09:10am

Isn't it AT&Ts network to do what they want?

I don't see the problem here. Isn't the network owned by AT&T? I certainly hope people aren't feeling entitled to performing whatever they may like on their network. I have to assume that Mike is suggesting that AT&T could have made a better decision in allowing Slingbox players to stream over their networks. But in no way should people feel that AT&T owes them this functionality on their network (unless the ToS didn't bar it when they signed it). Also AT&T is a business out there to make money. There is no other goal more important to a company than that and if streaming MLB games over their network is the best way for them to make money than i don't see why people would expect them not to do it.

the only justification AT&T needs is that they will make more money.
