Why would a browser be blank? You don't honestly think that without the MPAA/RIAA that there wouldn't be anything on the internet right? Hell pretty much anything ever produced by their members and I personally wouldn't notice.
Actually I'd welcome them disappearing completely off the internet so maybe they would stop with all the horrible laws. I actually broke down and watched a Hollywood movie with the wife last night, it was horrible. Your description of "watching horrible movies from people you would never want to know about" sounds exactly like my experience last night.
People haven't built up a huge following using Youtube before? Justin Bieber... Adelle... Nah, they were only popular on Youtube after the big labels picked them up and made them famous right? It couldn't have happened the other way around!
Sounds to me like SOPA is just going to lead to a bunch of tech companies moving to Canada or Europe to avoid this crap. The US should start turning into an internet back water any day now. Sad for the US, good for Canada!
If pirates are getting rich on all this "stolen" content what is stopping the rights holders from doing the same? You'd think the actually rights holder could offer a better experience/product than a pirate could wouldn't you?
This entire blog is a CwF offering genius. Techdirt isn't the entire business, look into it a little bit. Have you paid anything to read any of the stories posted on this blog? Yet you keep coming back for more and supporting the site with ad revenues, interesting...
You really don't get what Mike is getting at do you?
Your posts in this entire thread have no point. What are you saying? Mike is bad cause people he works with are trying something new with Youtube?
You are rambling about something no one cares about. Good on Google for trying to make artists more money. I hope Google and the artists do better because of this deal. This sounds like something the record labels should have thought up.
Sounds almost like something already out there... Netflix anyone? Add in the social features you've mentioned and you've pretty much got Netflix. Now just add in more relevant streaming options and we've got a winner.
