A little discretion and respect from both sides would eliminate much of this. I understand gays feel empowered lately, but that "in you face" attitude along with current political encouragement is only hurting their cause as a lot of people that were once supportive, have now changed their minds.
Interesting and of course disappointing. Reminds me of Abovetopsecret.com, which spiraled out of control with the same sort of ridiculous hive mind censorship towards anything not way left of center. At least between cycles of sellouts we still get a glimpse or two of how it should be.
The Officer was following his directives, sadly this type of behavior is encouraged. It's actually a much bigger story, involving many large metropolitan police. Despite popular belief, they're not here to "protect", they're here to pile on charges for any and everything with the objective of instilling fear and absolute obedience from the public along with some interesting secondary goals.
It's remarkable to me that police believe themselves bullet proof. I mean, what happens when you finally push the public to the point where it makes no sense to comply? Of course, it's not the steroid ridden storm troopers that are thinking about the big picture stuff, they're really happy beating the hell out you to worry about that. But it does make you wonder why this is encouraged from such a high level.
Got a good friend that's been on the job for decades and is fairly high up on the food chain, he claims this is all just mild practice and we won't believe what else they're preparing for...somehow I think I would.
I worked for Comcast a few years back I can tell you from first hand experience that upper level management are some of the sleaziest out there. Sort of like wannabe Wolf of Wall Street types. In meetings, never once was actual customer satisfaction a concern, it was always how to get people to pay more. Period. One meeting we were discussing spectrum needs and one of the higher ups casually mentioned that internet was almost pure profit and only QVC was a better cash cow, he said we could offer it for $10 a month and still make money.
Trouble is, the FBI and other large government agencies have little to no real oversight. Everything is excused, rubber stamped or glossed over. They routinely destroy lives and property. I'm willing to take my chances with the handful of "nutjobs" any day vs your choice of alphabet agencies.
