Don't Advertise WiFi Unless It Works
Over at Geek News Central, they’re making a very good point that often gets forgotten in WiFi discussions. It doesn’t always work so well. In particular, he’s upset about a hotel he’s currently staying at that advertised WiFi and then discovered it doesn’t actually work. While it’s no surprise that the technology doesn’t always work (does any technology?), we often forget that many users aren’t going to stand for constant problems, which could do serious harm to the image of WiFi as a way of connecting.
