New Functions For Cellphones

The New York Times is looking at a number of patents that have been awarded to extend the potential uses of mobile phones, including such things as using the phones and GPS to determine if you’re speeding as you drive, and sending you an alert to slow down (I imagine that one will be really popular). There’s also one that includes a tiny projector on the phone, so you can project the screen onto a larger surface. This would be especially useful for web surfing via a mobile. Basically, this article gives you the idea that we haven’t even begun to see the many uses that mobile phones will have in the fairly near future.
