How Search Engines Cope

from the free-help? dept

Interesting discussion in the NYTimes about how search engines deal with the growing Internet. A lot of the focus is on Netscape, and their “Open Directory” of volunteers who sort through the internet, as opposed to Yahoo! and others who pay staff to do it. Some interesting questions on how to deal with the growth and the value of free vs. paid employees.
