DailyDirt: Imagine All The People, Sharing All The World...

from the urls-we-dig-up dept

The Beatles broke up by 1970, but since then, they've still managed to release a few new songs, like Free As A Bird and Real Love.. and even the new music video for Words Of Love (released this year). Maybe it's a bit creepy to hear new songs coming from a band that hasn't existed in decades, but at least these guys were real people (and not some computer-generated pop stars). Imagine how much more music with the Beatles would be available if mashups of their songs weren't considered copyright infringement? Beyond the infamous Grey Album, check out some of these creative Beatles mashups. If you'd like to read more awesome and interesting stuff, check out this unrelated (but not entirely random!) Techdirt post via StumbleUpon.

Um, the middle article is (now) worthless. Less than worthless, as the actual sound file with something to listen to was taken down in March, and the same artist is selling a version of it for (inexplicably) the same cost to purchase the files separately, but it isn't the song. So to "patron" the article of it's product would leave you with 8:22 of something I can make with sound recorder (and he likely did).

Pity they didn't see this as fair use (replacement for the actual product? Yeah right, only if you have the amazing ability to discern 226 different sounds at once).
