Zombie SCO Rises Again, Appeals Latest Ruling

from the will-it-ever-die? dept

Last month, when a court ruled against SCO for the... oh heck, we've lost count... 'th time, we wondered if the whole bizarre saga might finally be over. No such luck. Hephaestus points out that SCO has, in fact, appealed. Not much to say about this one, but just shake your head in amazement. Some day, will someone please do a full case study on SCO's elaborate decade-long suicide through bad litigation choice followed by even worse litigation choice?

    Hmmm...how are they getting money?

Who is paying for those legal costs?

Talking about zombies the iPhone could be next to turn into one.

Okay, somebody contact a priest and get some holy water to throw onto SCO's walking corpse. Each splash of holy water does 1d6 damage and dissolves undead targets as if it were acid.

    imho ...

The whole SCO debacle was a scam from the word go, a get rich quick scheme that included stock kiting and extortion. It is amazing that none of the perps have been prosecuted for their crimes.

    Re: imho ...

Knowing the way SCO operates, it is more than likely they would try to do some legal weaseling to get out of it.

Actually, PJ over at Groklaw has been doing that all along.

    SCO?

SCO! Surely you're not talking about the long dead Unix vendor! Surely...right? Who's money are they wasting to pursue this dead end?

Uhm... isn't the mark of insanity trying the same thing over and over and expecting different results?

Re: THE APPEAL TO APPEAL THE APPEALS APPEAL APPEAL

Well, it's still being appealed. We'll see what the monopoly capital of the world has to say. Is free and open source possible or will this be another blow against free and open source software and anything that competes with lazy, non-innovative, government protected incumbent monopolists.

There's an old English music hall song with a line that fit's perfectly.

    " 'e's dead but 'e won't lay down!"

    Nope

    (Sorry, pet peeve of mine)

Doing the same thing over and over expecting different results in not a mark of insanity. Just stupidity and perhaps a bit of obsessive/compulsiveness.

SCO isn't insane, SCO is scamming. They know that in the end they are doomed, but they'll extract every dollar of investment money they can until that day.

    ROFLMAO

Oh man when will SCO just die and rot in the ground? Surely someone in the halls of justice in the USA must be getting tired of this as well? I mean do the judges get a special SCOver time rate or what?

How many times can SCO appeal? Why aren't the bankruptcy people killing SCO off? This is bizarre justice in the extreme.

Groklaw doesn't have anything quite as current as this; but they may soon.

    Re:

You don't need a priest. Two holy water arrows to the midsection will do the trick. You can also use a single fire arrow, or even 2-3 flash bombs. :)
