Bottom Hasn't Fallen Out For Telemarketers

from the so-much-for-that-theory dept

It was a little over a year ago that the telemarketing industry was putting out all sorts of FUD about how the Do Not Call list would destroy the American economy by tossing millions of telemarketers out of work, leaving them helpless to find any other work. It appears that's not true. In fact, some telemarketing firms report that business is booming. They've had to adjust a bit, and are handling calls for non-profits (exempt from Do Not Call) or setting up to handle inbound calls from marketing campaigns. Either way, consumers seem happier and the dire predictions of economic collapse seem to have been wrong.

Re: I love the new laws

It actually makes it easier for me to point it out to management that with the " new laws " they are subject to 11,000 fines. Now management actually complies.

You know as well as I do that most companies never did keep " Do not call " lists prior to the national law.
