Student Who Changed Grades Caught

from the sounds-like-a-bad-movie-plot... dept

A student who hacked into school computers to change his own grades has been caught. The student has been suspended and they're debating whether or not to file charges against him. This seems like such a cliche hack. The student also apparently tried to delete over a thousand files on the computer system as school officials were monitoring them and trying to track down the hacker. So, this week we have stories about the stereotypical teenager Sasser hacker and a kid who changed grades in the school computer. What other stereotypical hack is missing to completely drive home the nerdy teenaged hacker stereotype? Update: Whoops. Looks like this kid isn't the only one. It's end-of-the-school-year time, which means end-of-the-school-year hacking to some. More students have been arrested in Detroit for trying to hack their grades.
