SmartPhones Suck

Admittedly, it’s still early on in the maturity cycle for smartphones, but the initial reviews don’t seem particularly glowing. A new study from Intuwave says (in slightly kinder, gentler words) that most smartphones suck. It seems that they’re not made particularly well and the services they’re supposed to be useful for don’t work particularly well. The fact that these smartphones are increasingly complex doesn’t help matters either. It seems like just about everyone (handset makers, carriers and application providers) come off pretty badly in this assessment. Of course, that won’t make anyone step back and think about working on improving quality. There are too many new features to hype.
