Apple (Beatles) To Sue Apple (Computers)… Again

from the and-so-it-goes dept

Director Mitch writes in to mention a rumor on Fox News that the Beatles’ Apple Corp. is getting ready to sue Apple (the computer company) over the whole iTunes/iPod music business (you have to scroll down to find it in the article). Of course, I was under the impression this already happened. It appears that maybe the Beatles Apple Corp. just threatened Apple (the computer company), and now they’re going to sue for real. Again, the point of trademark law is to avoid confusion. I find it very difficult to believe anyone is confused by Apple’s moves into the music world, and thinking it is somehow sponsored by the Beatles. I also find it difficult to believe that the Beatles can show how this, in any way, harms their ability to profit off of their music.
