HP Cutting The Wires

Who needs wires? HP is getting ready to push forward on many fronts with various wireless technologies. From the article, it sounds like they’re looking to cram in as many wireless radios as possible into every device they can get their hands on. That is, they’re going beyond just adding wireless connectivity to try to (where possible) add multiple forms of wireless connectivity to their devices. What will be interesting is to see, down the road, how these various multi-wireless devices get used. In most cases, it seems likely that they’ll mostly use one form of wireless, while only a few hard-core users will find reasons to make use of their other connections. Still, it’s yet another indication that we’ll eventually move towards a world where the device figures out the best connection for the activity at hand, and the end-user doesn’t need to worry about it.
