Find Your Stolen Goods On eBay
from the solve-crimes-from-home dept
In the past two years there have been fairly regular stories about how criminals are using eBay to sell stolen goods. It appears that the police are finally catching on. In New Jersey, two local thieves were arrested after the local police had the bright idea to log onto eBay and search for the stolen goods. Since eBay has no problem whatsoever handing over private info to police, they got the seller's info, followed him around, and eventually compared his fingerprints (taken after he was accused of pulling a fire alarm at his school) to those found at the scene of the burglary.
