Inside Ion Storm

from the pretty-stormy dept

An obituary of sorts from someone who worked at Ion Storm. The guy, a childhood friend of John Romero, write a typical “insider’s perspective” saying that while things definitely went wrong, they didn’t deserve all the crap they got from the gaming world. I understand the desire to hit back and yell at folks who made his life hell, but it reads much more bitter (and whiney) than it needs to be. It’s clear that the writer didn’t have much influence at Ion Storm, but from the sound of the article it feels like he did nothing there at all. It would be much more interesting to take a look at what really went wrong rather than just complaining about all the attention that was focused on Ion Storm.
