Octopus.com: A New Kind of Portal

from the reinventing-the-portal dept

Perhaps this ties into the Bill Gurley article about portals that I posted yesterday, but now a company called Octopus.com has created a new portal service that lets people define queiries which will determine what gets displayed on their portal home page. This is instead of just having random categories of news displayed. So, theoretically, the information displayed can be a lot more specific to what the user wants. I think this is pretty cool if it actually works well.
