Now available without spyware!

Latest patch removes Red Shell mentioned previously on TechDirt.

Also it’s probably worth noting that Civ VI has only had it’s first large game-play expansion. It has generally become the pattern with the modern Civ games that the game is barely worth playing at release, fair to good after the first big patch, and good to great after the second.

While Civ VI started of from a better point than Civ V did, Civ V + 2 expansions is probably still a better game than Civ VI + 1 expansion. If there is a second expansion for Civ VI then it might be better to hold of for a bundle with it included.

Why would I pay for this when can get FREE?

You can’t compete with free.

Oh, to support the site? Against my own interests when it wants to remove the Exclusive Right to control copies as stated in Constitution? The site that actively promotes letting in unlimited numbers of hostile foreigners that would inevitably destroy the country? The site that believes those downloading child pornography should be let off on tecnicality?

Nope.

Terms of Service - Reject - Get Refund

A few years back, in a moment of weakness, I bought an earlier version of Civilization. I didn’t like the terms of service. Surprisingly, NO instructions were provided for how to return the product for a refund. Customer service refused to issue a refund.

The whole purpose of DRM is supposed to encourage one to by legal. Well if you do, and you reject the Terms of Service (TOS), you should be entitled to a refund since you won’t be using their product.

When a company refuses to refund your purchase based on rejecting the TOS, then there is no consumer incentive to buy legal. Not to mention customer service simply giving you the finger. The company is acting maliciously towards its customers. When a company acts dishonorably, the customer has no reason to be bound by a company’s outrageous policies.
