Re: Re: Re:

You might start by writing a story about the companies selling these things that never bother to inform their customers that they’d be breaking the law if they happen to be within a Federal No Fly Zone — which includes such places as virtually the entire Washington D.C. area, as well as any place the President happens to be visiting that particular day.

And it’s not just around airports and cities, even the Bundy Ranch got slapped with a No-Fly-Zone restriction during the time when mini-drones would have been a useful tool for news crews. It might seem very odd that laws (and federal agency decrees) intended for 10 ton aircraft can be applied to 10 ounce toys, but that’s the way it appears to be in this paranoid police state we live in.

The peeping-tom laws most cities have on their books are another issue entirely. It’s a fair bet that these mini-drone sellers aren’t concerned about that either.

It’s a trend we see time and again, companies that sell products that can easily be misused (especially by children) never seem to be concerned until the government steps in and cracks down on them. Why is it so hard for them to include even a short cautionary note in the ad copy?
