Last Call For Techdirt DMCA Takedown Shirt
from the last-call dept
Just a final reminder that if you want the Techdirt DMCA Takedown T-shirt, today is the last day to order them, either alone or with my Approaching Infinity book. And, remember, we also have the regular Techdirt logo t-shirt (and again, the logo t-shirt with the book) and the Techdirt logo hoodie, all of whose sales end tonight at midnight PT. The DMCA t-shirt has proven to be incredibly popular (sales have far outstripped our last t-shirt), so if you want in on the fun, make sure to order one in the next few hours. We’re thrilled so many people like the shirt so much…

Sad Fan.
Nooooo!!!!!! I’m broke until after Thanksgiving. *sniff sniff* I wanted this shirt AND the book.
Re: Sad Fan.
Seriously, me too. I swore to get my order in before the end of the month, and I’ll probably JUST barely make it. Holiday season blows…
Re: Re: Sad Fan.
i think a shirt that launches a meaningful conversation into how the copyright legal system is broken is really the best gift to anyone, and you would be doing your family a disservice by not purchasing it. And isn’t that what the season’s all about?
🙂
Re: Re: Re: Sad Fan.
Uh, no, the holiday season is about spending exhorbenent(sp?) amounts of money on useless trinkets and electronics in a futile attempt to one up my friend’s and family.
Or did you think this was all about some guy named Jesus?
Re: Re: Re:2 Sad Fan.
That’s the guy that works on my car. Why would Christmas be about him?
Re: Re: Re: Sad Fan.
No, because most of the members in my family would not grasp the meaning and the rest wouldn’t appreciate the message. Oklahoma is full of fail.
George Bush Xmas
ordered...
I was compelled that last you made the ‘time is running out’ plea! I tried to resist, but the shirt is just too clever to pass up.
I agree
I want one, but can’t meet your deadline. I hope you’ll offer them again soon.
Thanks!

Lighten up, Francis.
Re: Re: Georg Bush Xmas Cards
“Lighten up, Francis.”
Any of you homos touch my stuff…an’ I’ll kill yeh…
Re: Georg Bush Xmas Cards
so can I go on an write mine out for four years from now to Obama and how glad I am the healthcare system is still broken?
Besides, its not like both sides of this dual political prty system isn’t trying to screw us all over.
Re: Georg Bush Xmas Cards
What is your address so I can send you a card thanking you for helping me send a card to W?
Re: Georg Bush Xmas Cards
NO FUN! From your subject line I thought you had actual Christmas cards w/W. (wuh-wuh)
Re: Re: Georg Bush Xmas Cards
That’d actually be pretty awesome. It could be a picture of the Bush family around the gift Cheney sent them! It was supposed to be a Xmas goose he’d shot on a hunting trip…
…but instead you would just see the Bush family gathered around some anonymous staffer’s bird-shot ridden corpse…
Out of curiosity Mike, would you make more money selling t-shirts or running Driod Ads on your site?
What If...
…someone designed a similar t-shirt on one of those do-it-yourself sites? Should they expect a take-down? 😉
Re: What If...
No, he’s SELLING the shirts, not giving them away as prizes!
Re: What If...
Wouldn’t it be more in the spirit of the concept to make your own shirt?
Can I send an old iPod with a few tunes on it as payment instead?

And maybe an audiobook?

Unless the phrase is trademarked, simply exclude the techdirt logo and have any online custom T-shirt company replicate the shirt. Or change the font, the color of the shirt, and make it 3 lines of text instead of two and you created your own original work of art, I find it hard Mike would take issue with that.

The increasing scarcity of these goods…
Cheaper T shirts
Can I create cheaper versions of this T shirt? $25 is too steep 🙂
Re: Cheaper T shirts
no you can’t! These shirts are SCARCE GOODS! If you are a real fan, you will cut out one of your vital organs and sell it on the black market to support the cause!
BLEED FOR IT!
Re: Re: Cheaper T shirts
That is too extreme bro! Extremism is bad
yeah, what’s the deal here? Why the limited time offer? Are you destroying the silk screens after the last shirt in the run is sold??? Christ, just press some more…
Re: Re:
Not only will the screens be burnt, but also the shop that makes the shirts, and the designers are going to be shot in the morning. This is the only way to assure that these shirts are truly scarce. In order to double the value (and quadruple the price) they could potentially ask the designer to sign the shirts before his untimely demise.
j/k
I guess I can head over at shirtmagic.com or cafepress.com and get one for 10$
that is unless you send a DMCA take down 🙂
Get ’em before the silk screens turn back into pumpkins at the stroke of midnight!
Deals like this won’t last!
Not when there’s magical scarcity involved!
Thanks for being awesome.
“Thanks for purchasing the DMCA Takedown T-shirt package, and showing how CwF + RtB really can work! We really appreciate you being so awesome.

You’re welcome emailbot; you’re welcome.
I wanted a shirt with what it has on the front (perhaps a little larger so it’s easier to read), but the techdirt thing on the back I didn’t want.

To me, or from me, this would have been an ideal Xmas gift if I had the money for it…
