You See, Once Buyers And Sellers Agree On A Price, The Deal Is Pretty Much Done
from the in-case-you-weren't-sure-how-it-worked dept
While MySpace co-founder Brad Greenspan got plenty of attention last week calling for a federal investigation of News Corp’s purchase of Intermix Media (the parent company of MySpace), he’s been beating that drum for well over a year. In fact, back in February, he filed a lawsuit over the issue. So why did it come back up late last week? Probably because he realized that the lawsuit he filed was about to be thrown out of court. The judge noted that shareholders of the company were fully informed and there was nothing funny about the deal. It seems unlikely that this will go much further, as the chances of a federal investigation seem pretty slim. In the meantime, we doubt we’ll be hearing similar complaints from the founders who just sold YouTube.

I bet he is soaking his sheets with tears over the 1.5 B for YouTube….
He should be happy with this money….and go wreck a Ferrari or something 😉
Re: Re:
Totally, I’d be happy if some company bought one of my sites for anything. Bead there should count his blessings and perhaps come up with some more ideas with all that spare time rather than filing suits that only end up making lawyers rich.
1.5B, 1.6B, what’s a 100 million dollars?
It costs...
to be a trend setter. Myspace started the trend. I also think he should go wreck a Ferrari.
1.6B, 1.65B, what’s a 50 million dollars?
Greedy Uncle Sam
Just be thankful you don’t have to pay his taxes.
After all taxes and capital gains etc, 1.5b is looking like he will get to keep 675m according to the tax tables at the IRS.
Re: Greedy Uncle Sam
Excuse me, I should have RTFA:
At 1.65b, it looks like he will take home a hefy 754mil approx.
Re: Re: Greedy Uncle Sam
You’ll have to forgive me if I don’t drop to my knees and howl at the sky over his tax burden.
Re: Greedy Uncle Sam
Oh, yeah! I forgot that he has to pay taxes like the rest of us! Jeeze, I’m so glad I’m not a billionaire so I don’t have to pay millions to the IRS – riiight. Yeah, that totally sucks man.
Go eat some chicken and save up your insight – you might need it someday.
two cents worth
I bet the bandwidth could be used for something better….
…how about $0.01 for the $100.00 and turn the servers over to something worth while.
This doesn’t pertain to this at all but FYI
If you ever go through a toll booth in the shithole known as New Jersey video tape EVERY time you drop in a coin or hand it to the less than average IQ attendant because months later you might get a photo of the rear of the rental car (Thrifty SUCKS – charged me $25 for admin fee of the “violation”) and a threatening letter saying you have just a few days to pay $25 for this 75 cent fine or you’ll owe the wonderful garden state $500. I NEVER left a toll booth w/o green light. Assholes! Thanks for the vent!
Re: Hey, Toll Booth Willie
Thanks for fuckin up the rental car. We’ve never smelled anything so putrid in our life.
We hope you get the hint and never come back. Your fat ass wasn’t really welcome in the first place.
kthxbye,
– New Jersey
Re: Re: Hey, Toll Booth Willie
Putrid smell? Try driving from NYC into Jersey. Makes Makes Times Sq look clean. He’s right NJ is a shithole but it’s home and I like it.
Toll Booth Willie
Maybe someone should spend $1.65 billion on New Jersey. Then atleast anyone driving through would know who they are supporting with their excessive fines. I feel for you for the fine.
MAybe there should be a cooling off law for sales over $500 millions?
If I can’t take my car back after 1 day, you can’t have your company back. Go suck on a lemon. Seller’s remorse my ass.
