DirecTV Confirms Echostar Wireless Talks
DirecTV’s CEO has confirmed the company is in talks with satellite TV rival Echostar about building a high-speed wireless network. The decision validates earlier rumors, but doesn’t make it any more clear just what the companies plan to do together, if anything. While DirecTV’s committed to spending a billion dollars, that still won’t get them very far on a nationwide wireless broadband network.
