Sales Of Phones With Dying Technology To Surge

Bluetooth has been “dying” for a long time, with plenty of stories proclaming its future bleak despite steadily growing sales. Why should 2006 start any differently? Just as somebody predicts Bluetooth “won’t be a separate entity” from UWB by the end of the year, Nokia says that sales of phones with Bluetooth will jump by 65% this year. UWB’s got plenty of its own problems to deal with before it becomes a sure thing, and before products use it start shipping in volumes anywhere close to that of Bluetooth products. Don’t forget, too, that UWB needs Bluetooth moreso than the other way around.
