Argentine Judge Bans Mobile Phone Sales Due To Poor Service
A federal judge in one of Argentina’s provinces has banned the country’s three mobile operators from selling new lines there, saying their service is unnacceptably poor. The companies say they’re spending $500 million to improve coverage and service this year, and blame inadequate regulation for making things too difficult for them, but a more likely culprit is the intense competition among them that directs resources towards gaining new customers. No word on just what the operators have to do to be allowed to sell new service again.
