Nokia's Tablet Experiment

Nokia’s plans to launch an “internet tablet” is getting plenty of attention these days for being Nokia’s “first non-phone mobile device.” Of course, that’s not quite true. Just last year, they launched a mobile security camera — but apparently no one remembers that. Either way, it’s another example of how similar technology can have many different uses. It’s not clear that this particular offering will catch on, as similar attempts from other companies have generally not done so well. However, it seems like Nokia is simply experimenting with this one to see how the market reacts to various technologies a few degrees removed from being a phone.
