Wireless 411 Issue Appears To Be Moot

Despite all the talk both in DC, from the carriers, from Consumers Union, from California Governor Schwarzenegger and from here at Techdirt, it seems the wireless directory 411 issue is moot. Is there even any argument here? The wireless companies are planning to make any such service opt-in, with no charge to opt-out, and the regulators are passing laws to be sure they comply with that promise. Techdirt feels totally disarmed…nobody to mock in the entire discussion. Unless something interesting happens, we won’t be discussing this issue anymore. Yawn.
