EU Ordering Countries To Adopt Privacy/Anti-Spam Law

from the adopt-this-law...-or-we'll-order-you-again! dept

It looks like the EU may be having a bit of trouble convincing countries to adopt their questionable anti-spam and data privacy law. They passed it late last year and told all the EU countries to adopt it. A bunch of ignored it, probably realizing that the law (like so many that deal with technology) actually might cause more problems than it solves. However, now, the EU is ordering those countries to adopt the law for the second time. Of course, considering they were already ordered to adopt the law a few months ago – and didn’t – it’s not entirely clear what the point of ordering them again is. Next thing you know, they’ll have to start the taunting process.
