Fastap Finally Available… If You Live In Canada

For years, we’ve been hearing about and seeing mockups of Digit Wireless’ very cool “Fastap” idea of including letter keys in between all the number keys on a mobile phone keypad. However, it’s taken ages to actually get one of the devices into production. Now, however, LG is going to be supplying a Fastap-equipped phone to Canadian carrier Telus, so the friendly folks up north will soon be able to text much faster than those of us stuck with typical phone keyboards. Derek adds: I wonder if the partnership with LG on the handset indicates a future launch in Korea. LG operates a carrier there, and the Korean alphabet is actually 24 characters, similar to English.
