AOL Thinks Movie Downloads Will Save Them?

from the getting-desperate dept

As AOL continues to hunt for a way to keep people from bailing out on them, they’ve apparently decided to offer downloadable movies as an enticement, through a partnership with Movielink. Of course, the deal is just a promotional discount on downloading movies for a month. Movielink is known for offering an expensive service that is difficult to use, with little selection, and less control for end-users. It’s not clear how giving people cheaper access to that for one month is going to convince anyone that there’s a reason to stick with AOL.
