Executives Prefer A Keyboard For PDAs
The various PDA makers have discovered that, even when it’s faster to use some other sort of input method (like handwriting recognition), executives using PDAs prefer using a keyboard. The various tests that the PDA makers have found suggest that it’s an issue of consistency. They use a keyboard on their desktop and their laptop, and so having a keyboard on their PDA is just easier. While, in many cases, it probably is a faster input mechanism, the real issue might be the mental transaction of having to shift modes from keyboard to pen-and-stylus or some other method.
