RealNetworks Partners With AT&T Wireless For Subscription Music Service Over mMode

Real has launched a new service called RealOne for mMode, which runs on “AT&T’s high speed mobile data network” (no mention of whether they mean the actually fast EDGE, or the plodding GPRS). The $5/mo service seems to currently focus on streaming the spoken word, from sources like ABCNews.com and FOX Sports. With Sprint PCS’s 1KTV, PTT, and now this, packetized streaming media is rapidly finding its way onto mobile phones.
