Toasting The Internet's Good Guys

from the give-'em-a-pat-on-the-back dept

Dan Gillmor’s latest column talks about all the “online vandals” – the people who have nothing better to do than to make life difficult for others online – and about the people (usually on their own time) who come in and clean up the messes they made. While most of the media attention is always on the “bad guys”, Gillmor (rightfully) suggests that the good guys deserve more credit. Of course, one of the things about many of those good guys, is that they don’t do what they do for fame – but to help keep the internet working the way it should.
