WiFi To The Brain

Press darling Kevin “Captain Cyborg” Warwick – a man who has repeatedly gotten press attention for implanting absolutely useless computer chips into his body and claiming he was now half-man/half-machine – is now fascinated by WiFi. He’s claiming that within ten years, we’ll all have WiFi chips implanted in our brains, which will let them connect directly to the internet. Now, I’ve always joked about wishing I could plug the internet into my body like an IV drip – but the likelihood of this coming to pass within ten years is not even worth mentioning (um, okay, fine: it’s 0). Maybe I should check in with the standards board and figure out which 802.11 letter stands for “mind-to-machine” transmissions….
