Sprint Improves Network, Customer Service

We should expect stories like this and the Verizon one just below in the months to come. These are the early signs of WLNP. The ability of customers to switch carriers and keep their phone number will force carriers to compete on the issues that matter most to customers, such as coverage (which results in better call quality) and customer service. In this vein, Sprint PCS is announcing improvements to their network including 1,700 new cell sites, network improvements, improvements to their support call center, and simpler calling plans. But to give credit to Sprint and other carriers, many of these changes would have happened even without WLNP – the big difference is now they are going to make a serious effort to listen to the customer, take appropriate actions, and by gum, they’re going to tell the consumer about it.
