DoCoMo Begins Mobile Spam Crackdown

DoCoMo is now trying to figure out ways to stop mobile spamming from becoming worse than it already is. The biggest part of the plan is to limit the number of messages anyone can send out in a day to 1,000. They’re also kicking spammers off their network and rescinding their subscriptions. Of course, with things like web-to-SMS gateways, I wonder if this really matters. Couldn’t a mobile spammer just set up an internet based system to spam mobile users, rather than doing it from another mobile phone? Unfortunately, if email spammers are any indication, for every trick DoCoMo pulls to try to stop spammers, the spammers will get more creative.
