Because There Aren't Enough Low Power Wireless Standards

Sure, why not have yet another low power wireless standard for connecting gadgets to throw into the pot so analysts and reporters can write more this vs. that articles? The latest is the newest version of WirelessUSB coming from the folks at Cypress Semiconductor. They say it’s simpler and cheaper, and thus has a better chance of becoming the de facto standard than a Bluetooth or a ZigBee. The more the merrier. Sooner or later people will figure out what they want to do with wireless technologies, figure out which standards actually do the job, and will go with it.
