Ultrawideband Renews High-Speed Wireless Hopes

Glenn Fleishman continues his ability to cut through standards-related buzzwords, politics, and confusion and explains why UWB might become a big thing. He sees it as being complementary to WiFi. At the same time, he expands on his own Infoworld article in a blog post that predicts UWB will beat up on Bluetooth… by 2007. Believe it or not, this doesn’t go completely against Derek’s assertion that Bluetooth isn’t dead. In the long run, all technologies become obsolete. So, for right now, we have cheap, workable, Bluetooth, and in the future, we have lots of possibilities to get excited about.
