Asian Business Travelers To Get Roaming WiFi

As mentioned back in March, a group of telecom providers in Asia have teamed up to offer roaming across all of their WiFi hotspots. The roaming service is now going to launch. The companies involved are Korea Telecom (Korea), China Netcom (China), Maxis (Malaysia), StarHub (Singapore) and Telstra (Australia). The article talking about the launch may have gotten a little ahead of itself, saying that there are 20,000 hotspots between all five providers. The original announcement said there was a little under 10,000, but they were hoping to build out to 20,000 by the end of the year. So, chances are they’re somewhere between those two numbers (though, even that sounds fairly high).
