UK Carriers Come Up With Loophole Solution To Required Price Drop

There’s been a lot of talk about how the UK is forcing mobile carriers to lower the termination fees they charge for calls that go across networks. Now it appears that a bunch of the carriers are looking at a somewhat sneaky loophole to get around the new regulations. They’re planning to drop their fees… for one day only (this coming Thursday), suggesting that that’s all it takes to meet the requirements for lowered fees. Of course, such an in-your-face attitude towards the rule is unlikely to win them much support, and is only like to guarantee that the loophole gets shut pretty damn quick, while they also may get in more trouble. All in all, it sounds like a pretty childish move that is only likely to backfire.
