First Public Wireless Hotspot Opens At Dubai Shopping Mall

WiFi is popping up everywhere. Today a company announced that they were launching the first public commercial hotspot in the Middle East, backed by Intel, Toshiba, and a popular retail chain/internet cafe in Dubai. They’re actually letting people use it for free if they bring in their own laptop (so, if you happen to be in Dubai, now you know where to go…). For others, they’re renting time on a laptop. It sounds like the “free” part may only be a promotional deal for a short time. Anyone doing any war driving in Dubai to check for open hotspots?
