Cell Phone Users Want The Basics

After just trashing the idea that cell phone users would buy fuel cell phones just because of the battery life, along comes this study saying that most people wish that mobile phone companies would improve battery life and sound quality of their phones before going off and working on new features. I don’t think this necessarily contradicts what I said earlier. Most people buy a phone because it’s a phone. Wireless data and related features are nice and often useful – but they’re not the main reason people buy the phones. If people can’t use their phones for its primary purpose, they’re going to be a lot less excited about its additional features.
