Opening Pandora's In-Box

from the spam-spam-spam-spam dept

Yet another spam story. This one is from the LA Times (which, unfortunately, requires registration), talks a lot about the history of spam and includes an interview with “the first spammer”, who sent his spam 25 years ago. It also quotes another group of “email marketers” who insist they aren’t spammers, while spouting ridiculous statements like, “email marketing is what people want.” This is the same guy who claims that he doesn’t send out spams for scam products – but when asked about “penile enlargement pills” claims he hasn’t had any customers complain. I think we’ve seen plenty of these articles pointing out who the spammers are. I still want to see the article that interviews whatever brilliant people out there are actually buying spamvertised products.
