Ex-Palm Officials Offer Handheld Video Game System
from the gameboy-gets-some-competition dept
A group of former top execs from Palm have been working on a new portable gaming system based on the Palm software platform. The gaming device, called the Tapwave Helix is targeted at a slightly older crowd than the Nintendo Gameboy – taking the same strategy as the Sony Playstation in the console world. The company claims that they’re using superior technology. While most people are focusing on the Gameboy question, I’m curious how this will play against Nokia’s new N-Gage gaming device. It may depend on whether or not the handheld gaming world is moving more towards connected, wireless gaming – or if it remains a more solitary experience.

Claw grip of death
Someone otta make a handheld gamer that, if played past bedtime, shows a scary face on the screen, extends a hand with long fingernails and makes the kid stop playing. 😛
