Google Advertising Catching On

from the well,-of-course... dept

We’ve been saying for a while that Google’s latest moves mean a complete change in the way people view online advertising, and it seems like people are finally starting to pick up on this. The NY Times has an artcile

talking about Google’s position in the market, and mentioning that the success of their advertising system makes it very difficult for anyone else to compete with them. Meanwhile, others in the ad industry are just now catching on. They have a quote from someone at an online marketing firm saying, “we are learning that old-fashioned interruption marketing just isn’t working.” Kind of scary that they need to “learn” that fact. It’s pretty obvious to just about everyone who isn’t in marketing, I guess.
