LAPD Officer Accused Of Selling Celebrity Data To Tabloids

from the perks-of-the-job dept

An LAPD police officer has been accused of using LAPD computers to research info on celebrities which he would then sell to the tabloids. Of course, the accusations comes from his ex-girlfriend, so you sense there might be a bit of bias and/or malice in the accusation. For his part, the officer admits to looking up the info, but insists it was done on orders from his superiors, who wanted him to create a detailed map of celebrity homes. He claims they wanted this so they would know, when responding to calls, if they were going to the home of someone who was “high profile”.
