ICANN Seeks Volunteers For Board – No Elections Necessary
from the that-democracy-thing-is-so-overrated dept
It’s been a few months since ICANN, the private company given the power to manage how the internet is run kicked the publicly elected board members off their board because they dared to ask the company to open up its books to make sure they weren’t doing anything questionable. Now, ICANN has decided that they actually do need more board members and are looking for volunteers. Of course, having discovered that publicly elected board members may (gasp!) disagree with the current crew, they’ve decided that this time around, they’re going to use their very own “nominating committee” to make the final selections.
